A 34 year old Lincoln man is accused of using a baby stroller to steal thousands of bottles of wine and champagne from a liquor store near 27th and Superior.
Captain Todd Kocian says they were called to Wall to Wall Wine and Spirits twice late last month. "An employee noticed a discrepancy in the inventory from their high-end wine and champagne room," Kocian says. After reviewing security video the employee discovered the theft happened on May 27.
The employee saw the man placing seven bottles of liquor, valued at more than $3000, in a baby stroller and leave the store. LPD says Christopher Rogers apparently returned the following day and took two additional bottles of wine valued at around $535.
Officers contacted Rogers at his home on June 4 and arrested him for felony theft by shoplifting.
