Petite Wine + Bottle Shop moves into former Papa Chango space

Jan 19, 2024Jan 19, 2024

There's a new bottle shop in Ballard, operating out of the space formerly home to the Miami-style cafe Papa Chango.

Papa Chango closed earlier this year when owner Sergio Garcia relocated to his hometown of Miami.

Owner Nick Bentley tells My Ballard he partnered with Gillian Palmer, owner of the adjoining retail shop September, to open up Petite Wine + Bottle Shop (5410 22nd Ave NW).

"We saw the space as an opportunity to build a community within central Ballard and create a hub for locals to find natural wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages made transparently, with sustainable farming and production methods," Bentley said in an email to My Ballard.

The bottle shop will host weekly wine tastings from Friday to Sunday, serving wine from producers around the world. They’ll also have non-alcoholic beverages, spirit-free mocktails, and adaptogenic spritzes, Bentley said.

"Though we are Seattle's tiniest bottle shop, we strive to cater to everyone and offer exciting and unique products not found elsewhere," he said.

Petite's hours are Thursday to Saturday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
