Hateno Village is hoppin' off with cool quests in Tears of the Kingdom. Here's how to beat the cheesiest among them.
It's clear the developers' mission statement with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was to build upon the foundation from Breath of the Wild and go for more, more, more. Even the most familiar places, such as Hateno Village, have more quests, more events, more life to them.

'A New Signature Food' is a prime example. It's part of an overarching quest line in Hateno, something the Hylian town lacked in the first game. But since 'A New Signature Food' is tied to other quests, navigating its intricacies can be a tall order. That's where our guide comes in.
Swing by Hateno Village, specifically Mayor Reede's house, to get this rich and creamy show on the road.
Everyone's buzzing about the election, and Reede is no exception. He's got a foolproof (?) plan to win against Cece. It involves Hateno Cheese. Or rather, it involves some cheese that sounds good, but he doesn't remember much else. We happen to know it's called Hateno Cheese because... well, we've done the quest.
There's not much to go on if you fetch this quest from Reede, but don't let that get you down. The trick to resolving the quest involves another NPC here in Hateno, whom we shall now mosey over and meet.
Mosey across town a bit until you reach the pier, where a lass named Koyin is sulking over a message bottle out in the lake. We have the technology to acquire that message bottle, and as it just so happens, its letter is what we need to learn the secrets of Hateno Cheese.
How do we get that bottle? Well, there are the materials for a raft nearby. Construct a raft and use that in conjunction with Ultrahand.
Tears of the Kingdom tends to equip us with everything we need, but by that same virtue, you'll sometimes need to fiddle around a bunch to make stuff work - this is one of those times. Don't be discouraged if it takes a few tries before the bottle's yours.
Set it beside Koyin. Head to Koyin's house and receive the Hateno Cheese - as well as the chance to acquire more Hateno Cheese in the future in exchange for Fresh Milk. Nice.
There's not much else to do now. If you guessed our last objective is to deliver the Hateno Cheese to Reede, you'd be correct. Your prize for such perception? 100 Rupees, straight from a gracious Reede now that he has what he needs to win the stomachs of the people.
