Chocolate truffle making

Oct 01, 2023Oct 01, 2023

The Bom Parties are teaming with the folks at Debonné Vineyards on a chocolate-truffle making event.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – An ice wine and chocolate truffle-making party will be held at Debonné Vineyards with The Bom Parties this weekend.

The event is 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19. It includes a complimentary glass of wine and sample of ice wine to flavor your truffles.

"People love the process," said The Bom Parties’ Carolina Martin, a former art teacher who uses profits from her Cleveland-based business to buy art supplies for group homes. "Everything is hands-on, whether it's culinary arts or visionary arts."

Martin brings the supplies; the host business provides the beverage. People use the drink – in this case cherry Bourbon, Vidal Blanc or Riesling ice wines - as one of the ingredients to flavor the truffles.

"I teach them to make the truffles - no baking, no cooking," she said.

Patrons will receive 20 truffles – how many of those make it home is up to them, she said.

Ticket are $50. Go online to reserve a spot. Debonné is at 7840 Doty Road, Madison.

"Truffles flavored with ice wine? I’d jump at that myself," Martin said.
