Rod Stewart launches own whisky brand

Aug 09, 2023Aug 09, 2023

Bottles of the Maggie May rocker's new Wolfie's Whisky, made at Loch Lomond distillery, will hit the shelves next month.

Rod Stewart has announced the release of Wolfie's Whisky on social media, a project that he revealed has been two years in the making and that Stewart called "a rascal of a thing" that "takes you back to the good old days".

"After almost two years of development, and dozens of whisky tastings, I’m delighted to finally unveil my latest venture, Wolfie's Whisky! Going on sale this June. Make sure you sign up at wolfiesiscoming.com to get your hands on a bottle first…Slàinte!" read an Instagram post by Stewart.

The blended whisky has been distilled, blended and bottled at Loch Lomond distillery in Alexandria, Scotland, under the eye of master blender Michael Henry, who was appointed to the position in 2014 following ten years as a brewer.

At 40% ABV, Wolfie's is described as having "flavours of warming cinnamon, fresh vanilla and baked apple".

On the base of each bottle, lyrics from Stewart's song Rhythm of My Heart have been imprinted.

The musician has also personally signed 1,000 bottles of the whisky before releasing them to market.

"For me, Wolfie's depicts the carefree behaviour of my more mischievous days and the excitement of what life still has to offer – let the good times roll!" said Stewart.

Wolfie's Whisky will retail for £35 per bottle at select stores across the UK, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland from 19 June.

Stewart plans to roll out the brand in the US later this year, when he heads to the United States for a tour.
