•Bacardi has released the latest limited edition for single malt Scotch brand Aberfeldy. The new release is a 15-year-old malt finished in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels sourced from Napa, California. The whisky is at 43% abv and is rolling out now in limited quantities across the U.S. The release carries a suggested price of $70 a bottle.
•Seattle, Washington's Westland Distillery has released Colere Edition 3 American Single Malt whiskey, the latest release in the distillery's Outpost Series. The 50% abv whiskey is distilled from Skagit Valley Malting Pilot Malt and matured in a combination of refill Westland barrels (93%) and second fill Oloroso sherry casks (7%) and aged for an average of 41 months before bottling. The whiskey is now rolling out throughout Westland's distribution footprint with 4,629 bottles available at a suggested price of $150 per 700-ml. Westland is part of the Rémy Cointreau portfolio.
•Lobos 1707 Tequila & Mezcal has expanded its portfolio, adding a new, limited edition Añejo release. Like all of the spirits released by the brand, the new Añejo matures in PX Sherry casks, in this case, for 12 to 18 months. The brand is only making 9,000 bottles available for this summer with each carrying a suggested price of $100 a 700-ml. Lobos 1707 Añejo will see retail distribution in New York, California, Washington D.C., Georgia, Florida, Illinois, and Nevada, as well as DTC availability through the brand's website. Lobos 1707 counts LeBron James as an investor and partner.
•Blended Scotch brand King Robert II is launching in the U.S. Named for a fourteenth-century Scottish king, the brand was redesigned last year for a more modern look that features King Robert II on horseback on the label. Three expressions will make their debut stateside: Treble Cask Matured ($15 a 750-ml.), 12 Year Old ($22), and 15 Year Old ($29). The brand is part of Ian Macleod Distillers.
•Denver, Colorado's Laws Whiskey House has announced the 2023 edition of Bottled in Bond Centennial Straight Wheat whiskey. This year's whiskey, like all bonded whiskies, is bottled at 50% abv and, at seven years old, is the oldest wheat whiskey ever released by Laws. The 2023 edition is the fifth batch of Bottled in Bond Centennial Straight Wheat whiskey. It’ll be first available at Laws’ Denver distillery before entering wider distribution at the end of the month. Only, 2,100 bottles will be available for $80 a bottle.
