Telmont Champagne

Sep 15, 2023Sep 15, 2023

June 1st – For the third consecutive year, Telmont Champagne is proud to announce it was an official supplier of the Cannes International Film Festival.

For the century-old Champagne House backed by Leonardo diCaprio, this renewed trust from the Festival is a recognition of the quality and uniqueness of its vintages. Various events punctuating the two-weeks on the Croisette in Cannes gave festival-goers the opportunity to taste Telmont champagne wines.

Year after year, a warm relationship has fostered between the Festival's team and that of the Champagne House. Cannes is always a wonderful opportunity to showcase the brand's know-how and to share the passion for the Seventh Art.

This choice is also an encouragement for the House to continue on the demanding path it has chosen, off the beaten tracks "In the Name of Mother Nature": to be the first Climate-Positive Champagne House from 2030, and Net Positive in 2050.

Thierry Fremaux, General Delegate of the Cannes Film Festival: "Telmont has been by our side again this year, and that is excellent news. We know how sincere their commitment to the environment is, matching ours; and how much they want to change things. Breathing new life, and acting for the planet; this could only please us!"

Ludovic du Plessis, Presidenet of Maison Telmont: "Between Telmont and Cannes Film Festival, a beautiful story is being written! And being present at Cannes is a consecration for us. Thanks to the Festival for choosing us again, and thanks for the opportunity that it provides us, by putting us at the top of the bill, to share our commitment even more widely."

ABOUT MAISON TELMONT

Founded in 1912, the Telmont Champagne House is located in Daméry, near Épernay, France. Created in the wake of the champagne riots by Henri Lhopital, a brave local winegrower, the House remains familial and visionary: Bertrand Lhopital, Cellar Master and Head of Viticulture of the Telmont House, today represents the fourth generation. The House claims a line of conduct: the wine will be good if the Earth is beautiful. Thus, after earning its first AB (organic agriculture) certification in 2017 for part of its parcels and following the acquisition of a majority stake by the Rémy Cointreau group, Telmont launched a program in 2021: "In the Name of Mother Nature". The aim is to produce a very high-quality champagne while maintining a strong reduction of its environmental footprint. The actions undertaken concern the conversion under progress to organic viticulture of 100% of its estate and the parcels of its winegrower partners, the preservation of biodiversity and the drastic reduction of its carbon footprint. Initiatives have already been taken and will be expanded: elminination of gift boxes and other unncecessary pacakging, reduction of the bottle weight, abandonment of transparent bottles containing non-recycled glass and bottles in special formats, complete stop of air freight for the transport of bottles and use of renewable energy. The company aims to be Climate Positive by 2030 and Net Positive by 2050. The House embodies a unique style: the champagnes are ethereal yet structured, balanced between tension and freshness – a perfect harmony. Champagne Telmont enables the terroir to express itself through its wines, employing its know-how to help reveal the various facets of nature.
