Trivento reserve malbec is Argentina’s No. 1 wine and is just $9.99

I was in a grilling mood the other night, so I stopped in at the Farmer's Rail on Front Street in Cuyahoga Falls. I got sidetracked immediately when I spotted all of the packaged charcuterie meats on display. The selection was impressive. I’m always looking for new things to add to my charcuterie board at home, so I picked up a pack of Spianata Romana from Italy along with one of the shop's Brunty Farms steak burgers from the meat counter.

I poured myself a glass of Trivento reserve malbec. It's Argentina's No. 1 wine brand worldwide. British wine critic Tim Atkin even named this bottle his Best Value Red Wine of the Year. And it's a screw top too! I think this would be a great bottle at twice the price. However, I’m thrilled to pay only $9.99.

While the grill was heating up, I cut up some aged Gouda cheese to have along with the Spianata Romana slices. Both were exceptional pairings with the wine's rich raspberry and dried cranberry nuances. As an added bonus, my arugula and heirloom tomato salad with balsamic dressing couldn't have been better with this pour.

I had the burger sans bun with only a dash of salt added. I thoroughly enjoyed the flavors of the meat with every sip of the wine and never second-guessed omitting my usual slathering of Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce. I detected an ever-so-slight smokiness in this malbec that will certainly enhance the flavors of all of your favorite grilled meats.

I did enjoy a glass the next day with some chips and Market District queso. What's not to like about that?
