Your Old Bottles/Cans Can Help Avon Boy Scouts

Jan 19, 2024Jan 19, 2024

AVON, CT— Those looking to rid their homes of that pile of soft drink/beer cans can do so this weekend in Avon ... and help local Boy Scouts in the process.

Avon Boy Scout Troop 274 is hosting a bottle and can drive on Saturday, June 10, from 8 a.m. to noon at the West Avon Congregational Church, 280 Country Club Road, Avon.

In addition to the usual soda/beer/water containters, the bottle and can drive will also accept containers for sports drinks, energy drinks, tea/coffee drinks, kombucha, hard cider, hard seltzer and carbonated, spirit-based drinks.

All participants have to do is show up and local scouts will do the rest, namely taking the bottles and cans from the vehicle.

All proceeds of the bottle/can returns will help the scout troop attend summer field trips and other activities.
