There will only be 6,500 Clase Azul bottles up for grabs.
Today, Clase Azul unveils its latest limited-edition tequila for Día de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead, which this year begins on Nov. 1 and ends on Nov. 2. It's the luxury brand's second iteration of their Nuestros Recuerdos, meaning "our memories," bottling series.
Día de los Muertos is one of Mexico's most important holidays, honoring those who have passed away, and for this bottle, Guadalajara-based brand Clase Azul and master distiller Viridiana Tinoco have concocted a tequila (in a hand-painted decanter) that effectively commemorates the occasion.

The bottle's design is inspired by the ofrenda, an often elaborate and colorful offering for the deceased. The base of the decanter is decorated with iconography emblematic of the marigold flowers and papel picado (paper with cut-out designs) placed on the altars dedicated to the deceased. The bottle's white glaze is representative of alfeñiques (sugar confections). But arguably the most eye-catching design on the bottle is the depiction of a calavera de azúcar, or sugar skull. The vibrant bottles were handmade by the company's Mexican artisans and each bottle took around 12 days to complete.

In addition to this magnificent decanter, the contents inside are also worth marveling over. Aged for 28 months, the añejo tequila spent its first 22 months in American whiskey casks before being finished in artisanal rum barrels from Martinique. The result: a hint of sweetness with notes of orange peel, clove, walnut, and cacao.

The limited-edition bottle will be available for purchase in the United States, Asia, and Europe as of this week. However, those who want first dibs can make a trip out of it and head over to Clase Azul's flagship store in San José del Cabo, Mexico. Tucked behind the boutique is the brand's newly launched hospitality concept, with the interactive Taste of Culture dining experience, upscale restaurant La Terraza, Clase Azul Omakase, and Clase Azul El Bar, where adeptly crafted cocktails will shine a light on tequila, mezcal, and seasonal ingredients.
Clase Azul Tequila Día de los Muertos Limited Edition Colores will be available in one-liter decanters for $1,050. The link for purchase is not yet available.
